“ We had a wonderful meal at The Finery in Alexandra and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The service was warm, efficient, and attentive without being intrusive. The ambience was inviting — stylish yet relaxed — making it a great setting for a night out. Pictured are the Shoestring Fries, Beef Short Rib, and Pork. The fries were crisp, golden, and seasoned just right — simple but done exceptionally well. The Beef Short Rib was the standout: tender, succulent, and full of flavour, it practically melted in my mouth. We both requested a swap from mashed potato to potato gratin with our mains, and the staff happily accommodated us. The gratin was creamy and rich — a perfect match. The pork was also beautifully cooked, with a crisp, flavourful crackling that added great texture. The accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection and well-seasoned, adding a fresh, vibrant balance to the richness of the meat dishes. All in all, we had a fantastic meal and would definitely return. Highly recommended if you're in Alexandra! ”

“ This is easily the most upmarket place to dine in Alexandra. We were very impressed with the ambience and décor — the high ceilings and well-spaced tables create a relaxed, premium dining experience. The menu is excellent, offering everything from refined, restaurant-quality dishes to elevated pub favourites, so there’s truly something to suit every taste and budget. I ordered the Slow-braised Beef Rib with gratin potato, seasonal vegetables, and chimichurri-scented jus. It didn’t disappoint — the beef was melt-in-the-mouth tender, the sauces were rich and delicious, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My partner had the Crispy-Skinned Salmon and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. ”

The staff were attentive catering to our needs without being over bearing. We all thought it was excellent value for money. Thanks we will be definitely coming back ”

“ In a group of 7 we went to The Finery for lunch. Drew and Tracey, our waitresses were friendly, attentive and looked after us so well. All 7 of us were rapt with our food which was at a very high standard and absolutely delicious. If you are wanting somewhere to go for a special occasion or just want somewhere to go with family and friends I highly recommend going to The Finery. 10/10 ”

“ A wonderful new venue that is a credit to the owner who built the facility for all to use. It is central, modern, comfortable, seperate bar, whiskey bar and fabulous big and airy restaurant. Court yard dining and outdoor areas for drinking or dining. Dog friendly. Being very well supported by locals and travelers alike. The food is excellent as is the service and as the business has only just opened it is doing a great job of ironing out any small issues that may have occurred in its first few days. ”

“ We all had fabulous main meals and the Pinot Noir we ordered was delicious...it was an older vintage!!! For dessert we all ordered Espresso Martinis as the mai meal size was huge! They were absolutely delicious as well! The interior is great but its a very large space and there were few people on the Sunday night we were there so it felt a little cavernous but the interior is still lovely and I loved all the overhead lights! The food is more upmarket pub style and they are large servings so don't over order. ”
